PCCs gather for training
Volunteers from the state's pregnancy care centers hear about how to help make adoption more culturally acceptable
From Kentucky Citizen Digest, July, 1997

Over 120 volunteers from almost 20 pregnancy care centers gathered in southern Kentucky near Lake Cumberland from May 16-17 at the 3rd annual crisis pregnancy retreat.

Participants heard nationally-recognized speaker Ann Pierson discuss the “adoption option.” Pierson pointed out the anti-adoption mind set of today’s culture and argued that adoption is a valid choice for unwed mothers and their children. Recent national news stories of abandoned children and infanticide underscore her appeal to elevate this option.Participants were told how they can make sure the women they see in their Centers are fully aware of the alternative of adoption.

The event is hosted by the Kentucky Association of Pregnancy Care Centers to strengthen those that help unwed mothers.
